Film makers were able to make their mark in Langwarrin recently.
The Stellar Short Film Festival entered its third year in 2020, with a range of short films including Happy Android, Joy Boy, Crush and The Egg screened to the strong crowd in attendance.
The event took place on Saturday the 29th of February at McClelland Sculpture Park and Running Boards were on hand for a second straight year to supply one of their Digital Screen 15’s to show the films.
Judges included well known Australian TV personalities Michael Caton (Packed to the Rafters, The Castle), Desiree Akhaven (Co-writer, The Miseducation of Cameron Post) and Rick Davies (Offspring, Howzat – The Kerry Packer Story). Scott Major (Neighbours, Heartbreak High) was also Master of Ceremonies on the night.
The evening was a huge success, with organiser, Sarah, saying both the screen and event staff were a huge help, “They were absolutely fantastic – we literally could not fault their service.”
The event is set to only get bigger, with plans for next year already in the works, and be sure that both Running Boards and Stellar are keen to join forces again, “We look forward to having them (Running Boards) back again for our 2021 event,” Sarah said.
